Juan Coronado's black-rum-based cocktail is sweet, bitter and herbal, with a bit of brightness from lime juice and an orange peel garnish. This recipe originally appeared as part of “Everything You Need to Know About Black Strap Rum.”

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Bacardí black rum
  • 1/2 oz Bénédictine liqueur
  • 1 barspoon Amaro Montenegro
  • 1 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 oz Simple syrup
  • Garnish: Orange peel

Directions

  1. Add all the ingredients into a shaker with ice, and shake until well-chilled.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe.
  3. Garnish with an orange peel.
